I just got my cam with the 32% larger fuel pump lobe. It came with a lash cap. The label on the lash cap says only use with an lt1 pump. Do not use with an lt4 pump.

What am I missing here?

Edit: found this. It helps explain things. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...learances.html

That is NOT a cut and dry determination. You always have to measure the preload on the HPFP. We have had Z06s that need lash capped due to improper fueling. This was an F1X C7 Z06 with a 32% lobe that shouldn't have needed a lashcap, but it did. You can see where the rail pressure would just randomly fall off in the upper RPM band and granted the F1 has a large fuel demand, but we had a larger pulley on it trying to see if it would change, and that did nothing for it. We pulled it off, measured the HPFP install height and milled the necessary adjustment to get it back within spec.

The instructions in that thread show how to check for some preload and how to make sure the pump isn’t bottoming out.

On the bottoming out part it says get the lifter to the highest position. Remove the large spring from the pump. Remove the gasket. Carefully install the pump wrenching it down slowly and stopping if you feel it bottom out. If you are able To get the pump all the way on then it should be safe and not bottom especially with the added gasket.

Do you agree with that method? Simple enough unless there is more too it.

Might want to update this. LPE big bore version 2 works with bigger fuel lobes.

Has this changed much in the years since it was posted? It's all very helpful, I just want to make sure that it is still relevant to the application.

Come on up! We have cars in from all over the country regularly. We're doing a story on our Camaro LT4 blower conversion kit starting next week with a guy from a couple states away. And his dad is coming a couple weeks after that with his C7 for the same thing. Fun father/son LT4 blower swap duo haha

Yes, I briefly looked at your build thread last night and wanted to peruse when I had more time to read. Good time for the power. 670 at 4K is a stretch for 9s IMO, but good luck! Trunk tank helps a lot with temps and cooling as you know

With the current mods in my sig, at what point should I be looking to upgrade my low side? Looking at heads and cam build this winter.

You'll be fine on the stock system with heads and cam.

Depending on the level of heads/cam on E85 you might need LT4 fueling.

On the topic of fueling, has anyone ran into issues with the LT4 HPFP pump and NA setups? Talking to my tuner, they stated twice they ran into issues where the LT4 HPFP provided too much fuel for the Fuel Bypass Solenoid to keep up and results in pressure going higher than demanded and can cause the injectors to lock up. This is for NA setups running a the larger fuel lobes.

Both times he stared the solution was switching back to the LT1 HPFP.
