2018 SS 1LE hazard lights not turning off
Hoping someone here has ran into a similar problem here:
Came back home after a couple of weeks out of town, tried cranking the car but the battery was dead. Once I turned the car into the ‘on’ position, the car realized its battery was too low to start & it entered an ‘emergency’ type mode where it automatically turned the hazards on and prompted me to call on star. I jumped the car with my wife’s car, it cranked/turn on without issue after about 5 mins. There’s no dash lights on (battery, anti theft, etc), but the car won’t turn the hazards off, even if they car is off. I’ve tried cycling through drive cycles, driven it several miles, locked/unlocked it with the key fob, and yes, I’ve tried pressing the hazard light button lol. To my understanding, the car must be in an anti theft or similar mode, but I haven’t been able to figure it out. Anyone run into a similar problem and have a fix? |

I've had a car enter this mode, when the headlights were left on for hours. However, it recovered after a jump start and battery voltage restored with a smart charger.
Your battery might be beyond recover and needing to be replaced. |

Update: Replaced the battery myself, no change. Had to take it to the dealer... long story short, they replaced the 'hazard safety swtich' underneath the center console & it resolved the issue. Incredibly strange, but it is what it is. $2 part + labor.
