Yah, I noticed that they are narrow in the back, on the inside. Looks goofy, but still protects the paint, which is only near the outside edge (the rest is just going to hit the underside of the car). I'm more about function than form, so I can live with it. But if form is important, maybe mix and match (front ones RPI Design, and rear ones from Rokblockz)?

Their website is rather succinct, I'd like to know the attachment mechanism for the front, because if it's just the one push retainer in the middle plus double sided tape, that's no bueno. Guess one could always reuse the metal clip from the RPI Designs mudflap, though.

Mix and match would look even goofier, since the RPI flaps have rounded corners, while and these Rokblokz ones are straight with a 45° angled corner cut.

I’m with you… these are my choice and had no idea these were available until this thread. If for some reason I don’t like the hardware or how it’s secured, I’ll whip up a modification of it on my own.

Reviving this thread a bit, I decided to guinea pig these Rokblokz splash guards. I installed them earlier today, and they are pretty good, here's a little overview of my impressions.

Pros
- Very sturdy, thick material (3/16" vs RPI Designs/ZL1 Addons premium rock guards that are only 1/8" thick)
- Fronts are 1/2" wider than competitors, which should help with wide tires (1LE or even wider/spacers)
- Rears are wide enough to fully extend the width of 305 tires, unlike competitors, which saves the underside of the rear diffuser
- Strong and esthetically pleasing mounting mechanism with several washers and spacers
- High quality material and great workmanship, inside edges are even trimmed with a black plastic "bead", very classy
- Detailed installation instructions with pictures, nice packaging
- very nice look, no rounded edges with a very large radius that don't fit the car's design

Cons
- The mounting kit is overkill IMO, it includes gigantic screws and massive new speed nuts, one might even be concerned if they could tear off the plastic tabs they attach to in the rear
- Neither front nor rear guards extend down as low as the competition, they're both about 0.5-1" shorter (however, this matters much less than width IMO)
- Some minor fitment issues: the included spacers are either too large or plainly unnecessary—for example, the rear guard comes with 3 bolts plus two 10mm and one 25mm spacers, of which I used only one of the 10mm units as-is, the other 10mm spacer was unnecessary and I had to trim the 25mm one down to ~22mm to avoid gaps between the rock guard and the fender
- The kit comes with stainless steel screws that stick out like a sore thumb against the black plastic, so I painted them black

Overall, this is a great looking and very strong product, definitely worth the ~$100 it costs. I haven't driven the car with these yet, but am confident about the protection they offer.

Arpad, thanks for posting this and nice review. I’m still all over the place in selecting which brand / design of splash guard I want. I agree on the Rokblokz hardware.. too big and should be black (clearly can be modified during install). These are still high on my list…

I’m currently looking at the EOS brand splash guards, which are a very close match to the ridiculously overpriced ACS brand. I took pictures of both and it looks like if you nip of the top corner edge of the EOS (fronts), they’d be almost exactly the same design. Although, I’m not certain that I want to take the chance on butchering the EOS’s / wasting $. We’ll see…

I’m glad you posted up your thoughts / pics… at least I know what to expect, they do look good.

You're more than welcome, Chutzpah, I'm happy to help with anything I learn.

Looks like the $19.99 ABS plastic sheet from Amazon does the same thing. I had to cut them though….

Just like those $249.99 exhausts on ebay you could've bought instead of your pricey AWE system, those are the "same thing", too.

GM color matched splash guards

The were a bit more expensive than the other options but I like the look and finish.

Not even close to being a comparison but nice try.

Splash guards do one thing - protect the side of the car. How you want to accomplish that is up to you and how much DIY you are willing to accept. Attaching some custom cut 1/16", or whatever thickness it was, ABS plastic for $20 does exactly the same thing as the rokblox $150CAD mats. But you do you.

Agreed that these are probably the best looking of all options, but two things put me off - the sticker shock of dealer parts prices for a newer model vehicle, combined with the impression that these do not offer a corresponding amount of protection. I don't know that I have seen much commentary on the forums, though, about the actual effectiveness of the factory splash guards - so they may perform better than it looks like they would.

My car is my daily and I go 60 plus miles 5 times a week so I can't dodge the damage bullet but anything is better than nothing
