I don't understand how people think this isn't a real anniversary!?! The Gen 1 came out in 67' and this is 2017'.... 50 years later... 50th anniversary... The 6-7 years non-production have nothing to do with the anniversary. Just my 2 cents.

There were still Camaro's on the road from 2002 to 2010. I bought one of mine in 2006 so they were still being sold and driven during that time.
If they want to make a 50th production year commemorative edition they will have to do it in 2025 or whatever. Anniversary does not imply continuity. Ford correctly celebrated the 50th anniversary of their win at Lemans although they haven't won Lemans every years since. If you are frozen I'll let you decide how to count your age and birthdays. The anniversary of your birth will count all of the years though.
