Track alignment??

I’ve heard people talk about getting your Camaro track aligned.
Will any alignment place know what to do here for optimal track handling?? Say les Schwabor just the chevy dealership?
I have a 17 SS 1le. Put new brake fluid in. Now to alignment. Then to track

Thanks in advance

no most places you have to give them the track alginment specs otherwise they will just give you standard alignment

My experience at a Firestone Complete Auto Care was that despite giving the tech the Chevy specs and his explaining that he tried everything he could, he only got me 1 degree of negative camber on the front axle (not the 2 degrees recommended by Chevy for my car).
Then I went to what I think is the best local Chevy dealer in my area, and the tech there got the full 2 degrees. He explained a step that the Firestone guy probably didn't know or understand. Sorry I can't explain it any better than that. There are anecdotal stories of horrible jobs done at Chevy dealers, too. So the upshot is that when you want a track alignment, get your car to a technician who is experienced and knows your car. Good luck!

I am having my alignment set to track settings on Tuesday.

What I am curious about , is how much of a difference it makes from the standard alignment as far as additional grip in the corners and how much sharper turn-in it gives you. Is it night/day or just a little more than normal.

Haven't been to the track yet, but had a stock alignment up until about 3600 miles, now have a couple hundred miles with the track alignment. -2.4 front / -1.6 rear camber.

While not a scientific test, there's a cloverleaf on my way home that I know very well. With the stock alignment, around 50mph I would start getting some squeal from the tires. After getting the track settings, it's been solid 50-55 mph, no noise.

It's noticeable, and well worth doing.

I agree with the previous responses and say it's absolutely apparent on both the track and street. Your capability for lateral grip will be noticeably better in both spirited street driving and on the track. You'll also feel the road more (i.e. will have to fight pull on rutted pavement) with the camber being more negative, and will have a more "twitchy" on center steering response with the toe being closer to 0. I've been driving on it for about 1 yr which is about 6500 miles and 6 track days, and tire wear still seems relatively even with no complaints of driving it on the street. Both the inner and outer shoulders are getting pretty worn, so now I'm just waiting to see which shows cords first.

Thats what happened to me. I asked guy at Firestone and see if he can get me more aggressive spec but he told me samething.
I might go try dealer next time.

If I am doing anything other than standard factory settings, I always go to a performance alignment shop.

You may pay a little more, but a good quality alignment with someone who knows what they are doing will show in driving dynamics

Track alignment done. You can feel the difference. There is more grip.

I noticed no tramplining and it tracks straight.

Between the solid rear cradle bushings and the track alignment, I am very happy now.

Did you get it weighted (you in the car) so the front caster sets in and you dial in the camber and toe with you in it?

Weighted track alignment = best alignment. Place I go to charges 120$ each time I want to change my settings, but it is totally worth it.
