The wear items (brakes, tires, etc) and maintenance materials will be cheaper to replace on the lower tiers and will (should) have a longer lifespan. The 8 is more expensive to run, maintain and of course is thirsty (because you don't buy an 8 to keep your foot out of it). So that's it. If those 2 factors don't affect you, 8. If it creates budget problems, stick 4 or 6.

I do not look at my car as an investment at all, i just wanted a naturally aspirated modern muscle car with a v8 before they stopped making them and replaced them with turbo v6 or electric assisted engines or whatever... its a money pit that is completely worth it to me because its been my dream car for years, and i finally made it happen. I used to have a 2014 V6 camaro, and it was alright, but it just didn't fully fill that void that having the v8 did.

Get the fastest trim level in your budget! This car is about having fun, and more power = more fun.

Had a similar situation to you. I financed the 2.0T and traded it in for the SS merely two months later. I lost a good chunk of money on the trade-in, but I learned from my first mistake. I yearned for the SS and its power ever since I test drove it, and it's what I should have gotten first.

Yeah. My car to me is more than just a mode of transportation. I want it to be fast, sharp, and fun. As much of those three things I can get in one package, the better. That is why I think I should just save for the V8.

I once had a ecoboost mustang, and honestly it was never enough.
I ended up going FBO running E30 along with Meth on it, and while it was quick. I was never really satisfied. As for MPG my ecoboost got the same as a Gt, so that killed the purpose of it. With the SS, although im modding, out of the box i was happy. Car sounds great for one and it picks up real nice. |

Look, if you're a big guy who slays puzzy on a regular basis then you gotta own the V8,
Otherwise you can join all the rest of the sissies. |

If you want a V8 and it can be worked into your budget buy one. Just get a 1SS and not a 2SS. I have a 2SS and you really don't care about the extras on it when your driving it, just the sound and horsepower. The performance is still the same with the 1SS or 2SS. Would I buy a 2SS again? Probably not. I would get the 1SS or the ZL1. Good luck with your decision!

Trust me, just get a Zl1. You won't get anyone on here to tell you not to get the zl1.... except for maybe others SS owners
lol i love these threads. V6s are still fun to drive, and in my opinion its the best v6 on the road.

V8 is an experience every time you drive it. V6 is just another car to go to work in. No ones grandpa bought a 1969 V6 Camaro lol.
