Wanting to get an estimate. How much do you pay per month and what was downpayment?

Looking at a new car. Im leaning towards a 2ss/rs camaro (2016). I expect them to be a bit more expensive, but for simplicity sake, how much am I looking at to take the car home if my downpayment is 10k and I have credit over 750.

Thanks!

Google bankrate car loan calculator. Play with it. It really opens your eyes.

you beat me to it. Also don't forget to add in any estimated taxes from your state, title work and service fees (which I have yet to ever pay, bastards try to charge a fee to buy from them don't let them do it)

You may or may not figure taxes into that, depending of course on if you are planning to include them in your loan or not. I always pay the taxes separately, out of pocket, so I never include that in my loan figure.

Based on what I'm seeing, assuming the 2SS will be 40K (A 2SS is going to start at least 37 - 39K I'm assuming if not more, so only a few options is going to push it past 40K easily) with 10K down, No trade, and no taxes figured in, using a 3% interest rate (I know this could be lower but I just picked a number) I'm getting a payment of $540 a month for 60 months.

What I meant is the his taxes burden could change depending on his trade too which could lower the overall price. Here in PA when you trade you only pay tax on the difference. On a side note, with as low as rates are (if your credit is good), why not keep the cash in your pocket and put the taxes in. Is will cost you very little to nothing in extra interest these days.

Its the same here in Missouri. Also, if you sell your car privately (which I intend to try and do) you have 180 days to pay only the difference in taxes. That 180 days is why I haven't yet put my car for sale...although I have let people know it "is" for sale....or will be soon lol. I'd like to be good to go through part or most of January in-case it takes that long to get the new car. Hopefully not nearly that long.

As for the taxes thing, I can't argue with you on that. But its just something I've always done.

I wish we had that here. I may sell privately more often then.

here is a general "rule of thumb" for payments

take the first 2 numbers in the selling price and double it... then add a zero at the end...

The would be a rough payment for 60mos at about 6% rate.

for every $1000 you put down, you'll take off $10-15/mo from the payment..

i.e.,

$25,000
$3000 down payment

Will give you a payment close to 450-460/mo

without the DP, you payment will be around 500-515, give or take a bit

I also use this website... I like it

These are generalized examples as a point of reference.

With a 10k cash down payment, no assumed discounts, 7% sales tax, new plate fee, 1000$ possible new model price increase, bring your own financing

+39300$ Base Price 2SS
+2751$ Tax
+510$ Tag/Title/Registration
+500$ Dealer fee
-10000$ Down payment
=33061$ Financed
%2.9 credit @ 72 months
=501$ monthly payment

With 5k cash down payment, 10k trade in with 5k equity, no assumed discounts, 7% sales tax, new plate fee, 1000$ possible new model price increase, bring your own financing

+39300$ Base Price 2SS
-10000$ Trade in
+5000$ Payoff
+2051$ Tax
+250$ Transfer/Title/Registration
+500$ Dealer fee
-5000$ Down payment
=32101$ Financed
%2.9 credit @ 72 months
=486$ monthly payment

With 20k trade in with 10k equity, no assumed discounts, 7% sales tax, new plate fee, 1000$ possible new model price increase, bring your own financing

+39300$ Base Price 2SS
-20000$ Trade in
+10000$ Payoff
+1351$ Tax
+250$ Transfer/Title/Registration
+500$ Dealer fee
=31401$ Financed
%2.9 credit @ 72 months
=475$ monthly payment

My goal is looking like this, if the numbers can't line up at the table then I'll probably go for the V6 again.

+39300$ Base Price 2SS
+3000$ 8L90 & Magnetic Ride Control
-6000$ Supplier Price/Discounts/Private Offer Stacking
-20000$ Trade in
+15000$ Payoff
+1141$ Tax
+250$ Transfer/Title/Registration
+500$ Dealer fee
-5000$ Down payment
=28191$ Financed
%2.9 credit @ 72 months
=427$ monthly payment

you're assuming a 2SS with Auto and Mag ride is 42,300? bruh.... you might want to add another 3K to that price

Not really. If I were to get specific -- I say the 2SS base price is 38,005 + 995 delivery = 39,000$ + 1295$ 8L90 + 1795$ MRC. I'm more likely overpricing than under pricing. No way in hell I'm off by 3k.
