Will continue to monitor this thread. Would love to get cat deletes and not have to worry about getting a tune just yet.

Update....

I ended up getting a CEL code P0420. However I am pretty sure it's a exhaust leak on the Drivers (slip) side and nothing to due with the Anti CEL adapters being I have No code yet for the passenger side(which would be P0430).

Long story short...When I purchased these Bullet delete pipes slightly used from Vengeance racing, they stated for 6th gen Camaro but come to find out they came off of a ZL1. I contacted them and they were not aware the exhaust was different size. Apparently the ZL1 is 3" not 2 3/4 because the slip is the same size as the SS cat back. Anyway they offered to refund my money, I declined...figured I bought them cheap enough, I will just cut the slip off and have the right size welded on. So that is what I did.)

Also the Bullet pipes have a different angle then the factory cat pipes and cause the Cat back to hit the black stamped cross brace in the middle of the car which caused a big vibration. I had to use some washers to make clearance...no biggie. Anyway after I did that is when I got the CEL but man the exhaust sounds great now!! So I will get the car back up on the lift and check all the connections and make sure nothing loosened up when I was yanking on the exhaust to make sure the pipes were not going to hit the brace.

Performance wise I believe there is an improvement. I was able to drop my 0-60 1 tenth(4.1) on the street and that was with just under a half tank of fuel. My best before was 4.2 with a 1/8th tank. So I am pretty sure there are some decent gains to be had untuned.

To be continued....

The biggest piece of shit bitch is the driver side of our exhaust. I have a set of CA performance deletes in and they leak like a mofo on the driver side. We played around with the side, notched it a bit, did all kinds of crap to try and shut the leak up except welding it shut. I want to be able to go back to stock without too much headache...

Can you visually see leaks?

Yea it baffles me GM went with a slip fit on drivers side...WTF were they thinking?

Is there any cat delete that would allow you to avoid it from leaking?

I am not sure if the Bullet test pipes are to blame yet. I drove over 200 miles before getting the CEL. It was not until after I fixed the vibration and rattle I was getting from the exhaust hitting the cross brace did the CEL pop up. I know when I had it running on the lift, there was no visual or audible leaks in the system. However just the slightest leak will set a code. Or it could be I need to add more steel wool to the No CEL adapter.

Either way I will figure it out this weekend and report back.

Seems I remember someone discussing that the back sensor has time-to-temp and/or minimum temp protocol. Was the day you got the CEL colder than the other days you drove it? Might be this protocol kicking in.

Clearing the code and paying attention to the O2 warm-up might tell us something.

Just a thought.

If that was the case then it should of thrown both codes for both bank 1 &2 rear sensors. P0420 is bank 1 catalyst below threshold, P0430 is bank 2. It has only thrown the P0420.

Fwiw it was on a hot start on a hot day...after I got done adjusting the exhaust up on the lift.

Actually, that's good news for me. I truly hope the Big Daddies O2 spacers work out in the long run.

Please keep us informed long term.

If you remove the cats and don't do a tune - I'd say it's pretty foolish

Why? What is the tune going to accomplish if my fuel trims are in check and the PCM is not pulling timing? I do plan on tuning after I install a flex fuel setup.

*On a side note, it appears that the 2016 ECU's are more forgiving then 2017-18...so yea primary cat deletes may cause more issues without tuning with the newer E92a ECU. I believe this is the conflict here. 2016 will not go into limp mode over a catalyst code where 17-18 will. Also this could be why a few have reported false knock and I am not seeing any.

Just a update...the issue was a exhaust leak on the drivers side slip. The Big Daddy CEL adapters work like a champ.

That being said I put the stock pipes back in because there is no way to keep the driverside from leaking without welding. You can not get the factory style clamp over both the cat back and test pipe flared ends to obtain a good seal. I would not buy the bullet performance pipes unless they have been updated. Also it sounds like the CA performance pipes have the same issue. If there was no leaks it would have been a solid mod being I did like the sound increase.

Mine leaks to all hell but the car is tuned so I don't get a CEL.

I think the only way to get that area to seal right is to use a packed clamp like GM did. Shit design, shit decision. I'm like | | close to having my builder setup a flake setup and weld a set of flanges to my stock cats too. I love that my build can go back to stock very easily and would like to keep it that way.

I did use a packed GM clamp and still leaked. The issue is the "ridge" or "lip" if you will on the test pipe is larger diameter then the lip on the cat back. you are suppose to get these two "ridges" or "lips" to the point where the meet and then put the GM clamp around it and torque it. I think my issue was that these were for a ZL1 and the diameter is larger(only in the slip section). I am assuming the ZL1 cat back is 3" judging by the slip or else it was simply just made incorrectly. I could not get enough clamping force on the cat back side.

Fwiw I bought these pipes slightly used from a Vendor that said they were for a 6 gen Camaro. So I had no idea until I already had the exhaust apart that the driver side was not correct. I had to modify the driver side to make it work. Passenger side no issue... I then contacted vendor who said they came off of a ZL1. I told them I made it work, but then after some driving I started noticing the leak.

However it sounds like all of these bolt-in test pipes leak on the driver side so I am done with them. I will probably end up going with headers at some point. From what I read Dynatech will bolt up to the factory NPP without cutting. I don't feel like dumping 3k into a full exhaust even though it will sound the best this way.
