Ss grille in RS front
Hi all,
I am wondering if the ‘16 - ‘18 SS grilles fit into the RS grille area? Personally i love how much more aggressive it looks and am looking into it, however, all i see are full front bumper replacements, which i dont want. So, does anyone know if the teo are exchangable? Thanks |

Pretty sure the grill itself is a little bigger which is why you need the different bumper

The bumper sections surrounding the grilles are completely different between the RS, SS and ZL1, so I don't see how you could swap their OEM grilles around.
If you're okay with a ZL1 or ZL1 1LE style front, there are aftermarket solutions cheaper than an entire new GM front fascia swap, otherwise I think the best you can do without replacing the bumper is the SEMA grille.

Otherwise, aftermarket bumpers or any bumper change would be needed for any other style of the lower grille. American Authority stopped making their SS SEMA style grilles for LT's so unless you get real lucky and find someone that is selling theirs I'd look for other options.

Unfortunately the SS grille will not work on an RS. I did some digging myself last year while looking for a new grille. If you compare the lower grille portion of the SS to the RS, the SS has a slight rounded bottom corner, whereas the RS is completely straight (See pic below). That and other differences just don't make it possible.
If you can, try and locate an American Authority grille. They no longer make them but they are significantly cheaper than the SEMA grille and look more aggressive IMO.
