The dreaded "cannot duplicate" from the dealer? I realize the TSB reads X and the dealer does, or doesn't do, Y. That seems to be the default response for most all their nonsense, cannot duplicate, or, normal. I had a Manual Genesis with an awful tranny that Hyundai refused to work on so I beat the piss out of it with multiple gear oils and then ATF, and it never broke. Was just a terrible nuisance.

Even though it's straight money from GM for the dealer it's still taking time away from other cars in the shop that maybe they don't want to fool around with.

I had the same thing in my 2015 Corvette Z51 with maybe 700-800 miles on it. I think the Camaro SS and Corvette shared the same powertrain. Took it to the dealer. They called and said they couldn't duplicate this issue. I went to the dealer and they had only done a 1/2 mile drive in it and played up the Active Fuel Management going to 4 cylinders causing the shudder. After a minutes of back and forth, the shop foreman got in and I drove. On a clear stretch of road and getting up to speed, I got the oh Sh!t look from him and he stated. "I see now. Take it back to the dealer" A week later, new torque converter and all new fluids, I got it back. No more shudder. Had a brand new 19 Corvette Grand Sport. A few hundred miles on the car built after the Feb date. Same thing. Took it my now trusted dealer. Did not even question it and changed the tranny and diff fluid. At 2400 miles now with no more issues. The only way to get a dealerships attention is to crush them on the survey. GM needs to become standard across the board. Sucks that I have one I can trust to buy from and have to go to the other one for good service.

The shudder isn't really that big of a deal and isn't hard to fix, typically a fluid change fixes which isn't that expensive if GM wont do it. I replaced mine with a Circle D one and the trans has been fine, until I pushed 1000 hp through it.

Yea, I know they are tough and faster the the M6s obviously. But this forum and several other 6th gen camaro communities have countless threads about this issue AND the lack of support from the dealers in resolving it. It is a huge relief to me knowing the M6s are trouble free of the shudder annoyance that has plagued so many owners, and from my understanding, it happens on the A8s of other platforms as well...

Well, this is an issue with any "normal/economy" brand. Dealers are a hit or miss.

You want consistently good customer service? Pay up and buy a luxury. That's just how it works.

That said, there is no denying that GM's handling of the A8 shudder matter is a bit poor in general.

Try another dealer first and see what happens.

I wouldn't call "throttle lag" and an occasional "dead spot" in 3rd trouble-free. Maybe from the shudder but not that. I experienced both on my gen 5 M6 and my gen 6 M6...just saying

Have not experienced any throttle lag or dead spot in 3rd on my 2020, but I'm sure I will encounter some torque management issues when I swap in some sticky rear tires and start messing around with the 60 ft...

Meanwhile, in my great state of Illinois, dealer groups are suing electric truck company Rivian because (like Tesla) they won't have any franchised dealers.

Maybe I'm blind, but I don't see what trim the OP's 2019 Camaro is in his profile or anywhere in this thread. If it's an SS, then it's not an A8, it's an A10 not covered by the TSB.

At least it would be reliable.

It has a A8 transmission. It is a 3lt rs. It's a very nice car with a v6 because that's what the kid wanted. I don't know how many of these were built with ground effects but this one was. We have reasonably quick v8 drag cars.

GM is still going to need customers for their ev's, so it would be in their best interests not to piss off current, ICE, customers.
