Race Mode #5 question for those that track

Basically I always drive it on the autocross track in this mode. I’ve had a hunch that it doesn’t turn everything off like it says it does. There’s certain situations where you can feel it cutting power coming out of abrupt turns at lower speeds. I just did a race and there was a tight hairpin where I had to bang it down into first and crank the wheel. When I stood on the gas to rotate the rear around it would just buck and stumble for a second ( yes it had over 1/2 tank of gas). The guys working that corner commented on how they could hear it. Last year I had a Pro driver co-drive my car and he said he could feel it interfering.

Is there another special “mode” that really turns everything off that I don’t know about?

hold down the traction control for 7-10 seconds; it turns off all the nannies. Don't even bother with the various settings.

Press the traction control off button and hold for about 7 seconds. Turns everything off.

As others have said hold button for 7 seconds to turn all off.
I do find race mode/ptm5 to be a little intrusive on certain corner exits on a road course. I could imagine it being far worse on the auto X course. I will say even though I can feel ptm 5 cut power on some corner exits, I have not found it to be really any slower vs running everything off. That being said I typically run ptm5 on track, the piece of mind is nice at times. Much as I don’t like autox, I’m considering running the cam class at one soon.

I usually run my first few sessions with the car in "race mode" as a warm up, then shut everything off completely. In terms of lap times, I don't think the ptm necessarily slows me down, but it does make driving a little less fun.

Yep +1 from me on turning everything off too. I also feel you can tell that it's faster in a straight line in "all off" mode too. Think the throttle doesn't necessarily open fully in all situations in the other modes.

Well I went into the garage and messed around a bit. Holding the button down for 7 seconds gets both lights on the dash to light up, and then depressing the "+" button does nothing, so I'm assuming that's it? I remember on my '14 1LE SS, if you held the button down for a long time it would say something on the dash to let you know everything was off.

Yes that's it. Once both lights turn on, no PTM should be active.

You can test by doing a nice long burnout and or power sliding around a corner.

Is the all off mode the setting that the system defaults to at start up? In other words when the car is stated hold the selection button down for 10 seconds?

When the car is started the system defaults to mode 2.
