Ok going full circle, by adding a FPC 600 HP NA engine, Dual Clutch transmission, Better Track Seats, CF brakes & CF wheels to a ZL1/1LE have the makings of a 6Gen Z/28?

That would be pretty cool, I do really like the gen 6 car but really wish they had an NA high revving option. But I would have to say stick with a 6-spd, yes I get the DCT is faster but man its so satisfying to drive a slick shifting 6-spd.

I would buy one! But don't see that happening - the brand is going electric, so one off hot rods that don't promote that are pretty unlikely at this point. Hope I am wrong.

I think if they wanted to up the ante, they could simply go with the ZL1 vette motor package and give ZLE, 750 hp, add carbon wheels and brakes and they would stick with the 10 speed. That would produce an extreme car - but they could not call it a Z/28 without breaking from tradition.

So what they really need is to start with an SS 1LE, sticking with the mag ride suspension, with some special tuning, with new corvette motor - 500 hp, stick or 10 speed, carbon brakes and wheels, light weight the car (no rear seats, lightweight glass etc.) and with that they can slay the GT350R and call it the Z/28 and slot it in just below the ZLE price wise and have a marketing and sales winner.

Love my DSSV's for the track and they are ok for the street, but for the masses, car has to ride better on the street so it can be used everyday like the GT350 and 350R.

^ They’ve stated before that the Z/28 is “The” top of the Camaro line-up and that it is a track car.

Agreed - that was stated - but it was not always the "top" dog, back in the day. Then they have what Al stated - will always be NA car - so they got themselves in a box. If the new Z06 has a NA higher hp version of the 6.2 in the new vette - that motor could swap over - then you are looking at $80k + Z/28, as top dog.

Just does not seem like that gets the go ahead by the folks upstairs. They would prefer that buyer to gets a new Vette.

Yes the Z28 is the everyday configuration of a Z28, Z/28 Camaro. No / as in Z/28 means it’s a different car. But I’m remarking on a Z/28. The Z06 is said to have a 5.5 NA FPC V8 estimated at 600 HP. It will most likely be $100,000. on average. This leaves room for a limited edition $80,000. Z/28. After all we live in a world with a $100,000. Mustang.

I don't understand the whole "lineup" thing. Who cares if the Z/28 is priced similarly to the ZL1 or ZLE? If you want an N/A car, you buy the N/A car. I can't imagine the GT3 doesn't overlap with other models in the 911 lineup but they still build and sell the GT3.

I agree. How does a Porsche Turbo compare to a GT3 RS? Porsche gets it, sell customers what they “want”. Especially when it’s a toy, why? It’s an emotional buy it fills a want not a need.

How is everyone in The House? Hopefully lots of hand washing, and social distancing.

Here in Illinois, we are under a statewide Stay at Home mandate. Still working, but remotely from the office now.

Stay positive!

Oh and as for that Z discussion.......

Here is what I think/hope GM is doing. As the C8 has defined the Corvette for the near future, at least 6 years before anything major, I think the Camaro becomes GM's test bed for an electric performance car. Of course we have yet to see any camo'ed prototypes of the GMC Hummer or Cadillac's new EV running around, but as they have shown us the scale of the architecture, anything is possible.

So a track worthy EV Camaro, 2024.

Working remotely here as well. Oil & Gas is getting the double whammy with Russia and Saudi being the biggest hit and then topping it all off with COVID-19 to decrease demand even more. Even before this all happened Chevron planned for a complete company re-organization to be completed by Oct so layoffs were eminent before any of this happened. 6 years from retirement and now my 401k stock went from $127 to $55. Crazy times and fingers crossed I can somehow come out on the other end with a job.

The COPO was a dead give away and I've been thinking this way ever since. Camaro will most definitely go EV. Will be interesting how current events affect all this. They may end up making respirators for all of us instead of cars.

Calif. has stay at home order as well. We have all our employees working from home, that can. Our goal is to keep everyone employed until we get through this.

Read and interesting article today - link below - that would suggest the tactics in China, S. Korea and Singapore were very effective and US should adopt ASAP - hard quarantien for anyone who tests positive. It is about stopping the spread - for every person you "guarantee" is in lock down until virus free - you keep 2-3 people they will infect and 2-3 people each of them will infect.

The only way to stop that is wide spread testing and then isolation quarantien for those infected. I would happily go into hard quarantien if I was tested positive, to not infect any other party.

Their program, allowed those that were "not" infected to go back to work and get the econonmy going again after a 2 week mandated quarantien of large areas. That is the silver lining - short term pain for all, isolation for a few, best possible outcome for all.

Something to think about and share if you see the merits. Outside of our cultural norm, but may be in the best interest of the greater good!

Regardless of your view - stay home and stay well!
