ZL1 or Z06 for street/drag car?

Had to ask, if you were to build a 800-900 RWHP street car with AC that you could take to the drag strip and lay down 9s which would you do? I am trying to base my choice on easy to work on and price of parts, I know lots of them are the same.

Thanks
Jay

Need back seats? That should really identify what you are looking for

All besides the 2650 is bone stock down to the air filter.

If your goal is just going fast in a straight line, the Zo6. Same engine, less weight. 800 HP is no problem.

Exactly that. Car with very good street manners that can lay down low 10s o even 9s at the track on some weekends.

The Corvette would be about my last choice. A simple front engine, trans in the middle, and gears in the back would be my first choice. Less costly to buy, maintain, and easier to work on with cheaper parts

Z06. The A10 is better than the A8 in the Z06 for track/street, but for drag racing they function practically the same. Z06's are lighter and leave harder and can go mid 10s mostly stock.

The Camaro can barely claim it has a back seat. We see a lot of both here at the shop and they perform pretty similar. The Camaro might be a hair easier to work on but the Vette is about 200 pounds lighter. It really is a toss up. Can you find a ZL1 cheaper then a Z06?
