Problem with automatic reverse mirror operation...

Is anyone having problems with side rearview mirror operation?

I have mine programmed to move down when the car is in reverse (on both sides) - so you can see the rear tire area - which is very helpful when backing up.

Sometimes, but not always, when they angle down when I'm reversing, they stay there and don't return to their original driving position when I start moving forward in gear.

Then, sometimes (when this happens and they are in the down position as I am driving forward), if I stop the car, put it in reverse again, then back into 1st, they do return to their original driving position.

Sometimes they just stay in the down position and I have to raise them back up with the adjustment buttons.

It MAY be happening after I wash the car - I'm wondering if water sprayed into the mirror housing is causing this. Just a theory that I have to test further...

Yes this happens to mine also when I wash my car.
It did it with my 2014 Corvette as well..

We have a 2015 Lexus RX350 that I was having the same issue with. One or the other mirrors has to be selected in it for the feature to work every time. Not sure if the the ZL1's are the same, but it's worth a try.

Is anyone having an issue like this where it quits working all together? Once in a great while it works but most times the automatic adjuster doesn’t work and I can only manually adjust it up and down. Anyone have a fix? If it’s a moisture problem I assume it turned into a corrosion problem??
