What is the widest rear tire size would a 2018 RS camaro fit?

As the title says. I have 245/30/20 right now (my middle number might be off). I want to know how wide I can go in the rear and also in the front

If we referring to stock wheels, it sounds like you have the same wheels as the SS which is 245/40/20 front and 275/35/20 rear. If so you can 285 front and 305 rear. Which is same fitment as the SS 1LE and ZL1. However if you want to go 315 or 325 you will need to drop a inch from your wheel like I did to fit 325s which would be your widest tire. You can add 315 to your setup for rear but you need a spacer. I'm not too familiar with the RS trim level but if your tires are the same the SS..this is the option.

Do you know what the numbers stand for? I know the 20 at the end is rim size but what are the first two?

The first two numbers are the width and sidewall ratios

RS has 245's all around. So basically a SS front wheel on all 4. So if a 285 is the largest then that's all that will fit.

I believe the RS Package includes 245/40R20 tires on 8.5" wheels front and back. All tire manufacturers provide specifications for recommended wheel width for each tire size. Most tire manufactures have the same wheel width for a specific tire size. Decide which tire you want to buy and then check the manufacturer's wheel specs for that tire. In general you're only going to be able to go up one tire size to a 255/40R20 tire on 8.5" wheels. Most manufactures recommend a wider wheel for any wider tire size. Many tire shops won't mount a tire on a wheel that isn't within the manufacturer's recommendations.

You makes a good point! If your sticking towards stock wheels that make sense..I misread the question. If he decided to go with 20x10 front and 20x11 wheel then he can go with the option I stated above with 275/305.

By wheel I am assuming you mean the rims? So to put wider tires like the one the SS has I need to buy wider rims?

First number is width, 245 = 245mm
Second number is sidewall height, also called the aspect ratio, 40 = 40% of width.
Third is rim diameter 20=20"

Rim width is your main factor. On an 8.5 you may be able to go 255 width, but you'll have to go with a 35 sidewall, otherwise you increase your overall diameter which can effect your speedometer and traction control.

Go to tirerack.com, they have some really great descriptions.

Yes, you're correct. I believe that any combination that fits an SS should fit your car.

It depends on what type of style of wheel you want. There are plenty of manufacturers that sells 20x10 and 20x11 wheels. MRR,Forgestar,Rohanas,Ferrada to name a few wheel brands. It’s really up to you on which wheel you want to get and style but there are numerous brands to choose from. Also a good site to check would be fitment industries gallery and see what other RS cama ro owners have on they car too.
