Brake upgrade, front disc brakes.

After many years of driving Corvette's & Porsche 911's, I'm finding the brakes in my new RS rather soft & mushy. Has anyone done a brake upgrade such as a pad replacement or an entire front brake package? Just wondering.

Pads woukd be a good start, but the 4 piston calipers and 13.6 rotors from the ss can be found for 300- 400$ as take offs or even about 450 brand new from dealers on here.

If you arent doing much, id do just a pad upgrade. But if you arent into having man brakes, brakes that produce dust bit stop phenomenally, then id reccomend getting the 4 pistons for a few reasons:

The oem pads in the 4 pistons stop decently excellent for most conditions. Ive done daily driver duty and autox and track on them and havent had the issues i had with single pistons oem fronts.

You get increased friction and leverage with a larger brake setup. Equates to better stopping and longevity.

They look better painted. And the fill more of the empty space of a 20 inch wheel if you actually have the RS.

Also if you plan to do performance down the road, it makes sense to be able to efficiently stop whatever power you put behind it.

I’d start with a set of Goodridge brake lines. If the peddle is mushy it’s a good place to start.
