Careful with your lols. They've had issues with the injectors and ring lubrication with this engine. It's not perfect yet.

I was comparing it to the weight of the 15' Mustang, but yeah, hopefully it's 250+!! I'm excited for just 200, that will be noticeable, now, choices... The gen6 1LE or a C6 Z06..

I don't understand why folks feel the need to be here just to rip on the Camaro. If you don't like the new Camaro, go buy a Mustang, join the Mustang forum and have fun...why come here to get ripped to shreds by making ridiculous comparisons.
Obviously I don't mind if anyone does it, doesn't affect my opinion about the car one iota...I just don't see the point, I'm not on the Mustang forum ripping it for all the things I don't like about it...no, I found a car I like, joined the corresponding forum and have fun here. just sayin

Got it, and to the OP, you said your friend has the new mustang? Hm, what happened to it being at least 200 lbs lighter, being so much faster that the gen5 camaro they didn't even have to compare it.. Seems like your friend is in denial and you're allowing it.

The posts saying the 2016 is the same as the 5th gen are just ridiculous. Are people really that general? I mean there are people like that, but theyre generally people who know nothing or care nothing about cars.
I suppose GM really needs to post a picture of the 5th and 6th gens sitting next to each other. Imo this car, while not straying from the core 5th gen design elements, looks alot different. All the dimensions are tidy'd up, all the surfacing and window shapes are different, the interior is a down right revolution ect. ect the list goes on and on. Cant please em all.

I like the 16' except for few small complaints but I'm sure will be fixed when the Z version comes along. But people need to realize that there are people who WANT To love the Camaro, there here voicing their opinion on what would improve the car in their opinion. Why does everyone have to rip the person who does have complaints? We know GM is all over these forums looking for input. If everyone just stays mum to appease the Camaro6 firing squad then what good is that. Everyone on here should want more. No matter what.. That's what pushes the envelope and gets us a better car.

I'll stand up and take a shot. My honest opinion? I'm torn. I know the 2016 is a better car than my 2014, technology-wise. It is faster, lighter, and probably better designed.. It's a beautiful sports car. In those regards, I want one.
But my 2014 has something that I cannot describe. It's got a lot of options, but yet somehow remains basic and raw. Loud, fast, heavy.. and loads of fun. It's a beautiful muscle car, and I feel like it is the last of the muscle car Camaros. In those regards, I don't want a 2016. It's a good thing I've got time to think it over. I have no idea what I will do. I wish I could afford to own both.

The car has only been out 5 years. An entire exterior drastic change is almost always done after around 10. Nothing new here.
It actually blows my mind we got what we got after only 5 years. We've already had two refreshes of the exterior and now an entirely new car. ( besides the body similarities ) A car has to develop an identity it can't move in another totally new direction every 5 years. That's one hell of a risk with billions on the line... I can only imagine some of the frustration that some of the people at GM feel when they read stuff like this. They put in so much time. Constructive criticism is one thing... But this seems like something else at times. |

I've also owned 5 camaros, my current one is a modded 02 that runs 12,5s in the quarter and the fifth gen (expect the 1le) wasn't enough for me to get one but the 450+hp and the 8 speed auto plus the weight loss is exactly what gm needed to do to attract people like me to the new car.

I don't know if the new car is enough of a change from the cam5 that people on the street will be able to tell the two in passing. The C6-C7 is even iffy sometimes.
I guess my major question is why do a complete new generation 5 years in? Seems a bit fast, but maybe thats due to the 5th Gens coming into the LS timeline halfway through its life.
