Driver window does not work :(
Hi all,
I have an issue with the driver's window. It does not function at all. I removed the door trim and the S79D module (window button module that communicates with the BCM). Here a video where we hear the "click" of the relay in the door when I press the button (put the volume at max) : https://youtube.com/shorts/4mgtVr1wv90 The passenger's window works well. Has anyone had the same problem? I hope not to have to take off the insulating panel to access the motor :( Last edited by psykokwak; 04-10-2022 at 03:14 AM. |

Probably a bad motor. Tap the motor with a hammer while pressing the button down.

Is there a way to "unglue" the plastic cover without breaking everything ?
Edit : Ok, I removed a part of the plastic cover and I now have acces to the motor (there is a burning smell). But to disassemble the motor I have to unscrew 3 screws which are on the other side!!! What a pain :( Last edited by psykokwak; 04-10-2022 at 02:57 AM. |

What does the car do when you disconnect the battery for a few minutes and reconnect? There's usually instructions on the display to recalibrate the window. I dont think its the problem but it might help. The window motors have codes that will set as well (DTC) if there an issue with them. Throw a scanner on the OBDII and see what it says

I disassembled the window motor module (m74d).
I tried running it on the lab power supply (12v) but nothing moves and the current is zero. And impossible to turn it by hand. The engine smells burnt and you can see traces of something melted on the rotor. |

I wonder if it's not the mechanism that is seized up and that made the motor force abnormally and that ended up saying **** life...
I just did a manual test but I don't know what to think about it: https://youtu.be/6Giq7med1A0 |
