Quick video on 1 piece driveshafts
I recently have had a few different people ask some questions about 1 piece driveshafts and why we would recommend one. I was way overdue for some new content on my YouTube channel, so I figured a quick 1 minute video for 1 piece driveshafts was in order. Maybe this helps this group a bit.

the amount of slack in the stock driveshaft is insane.

Agreed
I just installed my new DSS one piece 3.5" driveshaft over the weekend. What a huge difference. All of my steering wheel shake is gone on the highway and the car feels more responsive and snappy. My car only as 39k miles on it and the center coupler on the 2 piece driveshaft gave out and the rubber boots crumbled when I pulled the shaft out. I would highly recommend anyone considering a one piece shaft to just do it!

My "Camaro" is a 2014 Chevy (Holden) Caprice PPV. The guys at The Driveshaft Shop in N.C. gave me all the info I needed for them to make me a carbon fiber DS. They said I could get most of what I wanted with their aluminum one but at ~600 ft lbs torque from the LSX from The Hot Rod Company of Green Acres (really) Washington, US the OEM or any two-piece was a really bad idea. Honestly the CF DS is better than I even imagined. While it's fairly long because it's for a Caprice, it does everything well. I recommend them.

I'm not sure your shifting question was directed to me, but it didn't change anything about daily driving shifting. Under full power it's a benefit because it's one less item flexing around in the driveline, and keeps everything more direct for the transmission.
