CMS roll cage issues

So I finally got my 6pt harness and my ocd is killing me because not sure why CMS designed our 6gen cage with an angle brace right behind our seat where the harness go.

So anyone with a CMS cage how did your left shoulder belt look when wrapped around the cage?

It's hard to explain hopefully the pictures can show what I'm talking about. Also belts are just wrapped around cage temporary.

You are correct....the left shoulder harness is offset somewhat to the left (Facing it) because of the down tube. Not optimum but it isn't that far off. I questioned it too...however when seated with the Hans on everything fits correctly. A custom built cage is probably the only way around it. You might want to look into a collar for your cross bar, it will keep your shoulder harnesses from potentially moving/sliding on the tube.

SDF62 what harness did you use? I'm using Sschroth 6pt and wondering how is your buckle in between your legs connecting to the lower brace under the seat.

For now I am using a Schroth 4 point....I am temporarily using the factory seat. I haven't gone all out with seats and mounts etc....I always have used Schroth harnesses in all of our race cars, they are a good product.

Nice racetech seats and a poorly designed roll bar.

Shit a little cheaper then what I ordered, to late for me but hopefully it will help someone else. Also looks like I'm going to have to use them opposite of each other snice I have no room one one side.

Definitely poorly designed but I can't believe this was never brought up on the forum snice I did a research and only read good things about them. I also did a group buy here and alot of guys bought it.

I emailed CMS to see what there explanation for that down tube right behind the outside harness.

Competition motorsports have changed the rear leg design twice from what it looks like in your illustration. It appears that the design was intended for stock seats and not straps. Docol r8 sure makes it sound good though.

Yea it does but they should definitely say not meant for race seats if it's not. And they do mention hans and harness. SO obviously you can't use that with OEM seats.
