Battery Replacement cost
Over 58k miles and 5 years on my 17' SS manual. I'm getting a oil change next week and will tell the dealer to also replace my battery since winter coming, will replace with an OEM one. Its lasted well so I figure OEM is the way to go. Is that a good idea? And how much is a Battery for these cars?

I bought OEM for about $200, it was a near exact replacement, except this new one is spec'd at 760 CCA vs 700 CCA for the factory battery. The original unit was noticeably weaker after 4.5 years, although it still started the car, if a little more slowly, and worked across the board without inducing any weird codes.

also, an fyi. pay attention to the manufacture date of your 'new' battery. I've seen some at places like walmart for sale that are over 3 years old. Sure you're not seeing the wear and tear of recharge cycles on a battery that's just sat on the shelf for years, but just sitting there isn't free of impact either.
My battery is a couple months away from 7 years old. It's due for a replacement too. as long as it's a good quality, correctly sized, AGM, the brand doesn't really matter and the car will treat it just the same. |

I replaced mine with an OEM AC Delco last fall. Was the original battery in my '16. I didn't need to replace it, it was still working fine, but figured I would. It lasted me that long, why change it to another brand. If I recall it was just over $200
