Katech aluminum flywheel f/s
So clutch started slipping so i pulled trans and went to order LT4 clutch to only find that they were on national backorder! Track day was around corner and was forced to buy a McCloud clutch with their aluminum flywheel. This Katech comes with brand new friction surface.
Please PM if your interested. I loved rpm characteristics that 25lbs less mass on crankshaft gives you. |

Can you share the pros and cons? I was just watching engine masters episode and it gained power, but really rev'd like a sewing machine... Assume you loose inertia and the "stored" energy...

I love how the the throttle is peppy and pushing in the clutch rpms drop faster. HP gains I dont know but overall I was very happy. |

Yeah ~24lbs off crankshaft makes sportier experience.

From my understanding it’s got bad street manners though.

A light flywheel might need a little more clutch slipping from rest because it can't supply as much help against stalling as a heavier flywheel. This may not be as big of an issue for some drivers as others. Bummer, Nick. Norm

Thanks Norn, your correct. Potential did not change, weight sucked up.

Pm sent. Curious, Katech is saying tuning is required, did you have to tune for it? Any stalling issues?
