Just when you thought the Prius couldn't get any worse ...

Unveiled this weekend at the Tokyo Auto Salon, this conversion turns the current Prius into a camping van of sorts, complete with convertible sofa-bed and overhead sleeping area. It's made of fiber-reinforced plastic and boosts the car's length to 196 inches and its height to 81.1, and comes complete with a skylight and a back door for slipping out un-noticed when people are gathered around the front gawking and laughing at what looks like a hybrid with a tumor.

Talk about a wind catcher. How could that pile have enough power for the extra weight?

This is my first thought. Could it ever reach highway speeds?

Whew! Thank goodness it's not a Chevy! If you've ever been in the country, you'd know it's very impractical to drive a car. 50 miles on the roadways cost about $65 in tolls and the traffic is so bad you can't make 50 miles in two hours. Where they could even drive a GT-R is beyond me. It's cheaper for them to take a trip to America to play golf than to do it at home. T times are booked years in advance. Did I say I'm glad I'm an American..... I'm glad I'm an American!
