Sierra Elevation Premium with Safety Sunroof and the diesel is calling me I think
Home ownership usually requires a truck, but not always. Delivery options sometimes seem expensive, even from Lowes, but compared to the cost of ownership of a truck, fuel, insurance etc...it comes out quite cheap.

I live on an acreage, and we have a camper and other things I haul/tow with our truck. So it's very much a part of our life and makes sense. If I was in tow within delivery range of the big stores and items, and didn't need to tow a camper or race trailer, I wouldn't own a truck.

Just my $0.02 - some people like trucks and just want one, which is totally fine. Ours is a 2017 Sierra Denali 6.2. Have no plans to replace it, has done every bit of towing and hauling I need it to.

Evidently GM has stopped taking orders for Malibu for the 2022MY.

You might be thinking of Cruze or Impala. Malibu was expected to continue on for quite some time. Possibly being GM’s last sedan, once CT4 and CT5 sunset. Thing is, if the EV-Quinox (my made up name) is truly gonna be a $30k vehicle, Malibu is toast.

Apparently there's a sub-$30k EV in the works too, I'm assuming TrailBlazer sized.

Are they dumping Bolt b/c of negative brand connotations? Maybe Camaro will be reborn as a micro EV crossover

Well if you believe the rumors it'll be replaced by a performance EV sedan so...

From what I've noticed, the announced end of a car line, might still mean it will be made for another year or two...

The Impala end was announced in 2018, but the last ones were built in Feb of 2020. A few even showed up on the last quarter car sales report...lol

...that just means dealers still had them in inventory somewhere and some random bought one. Doesn't mean it's still in production.

Exactly. That's the point I was making. Just like the Impala (2018 end announced), the Malibu and Spark production are announced as likely "ending" in 2022...

...Four years from now, you could likely still find new Malibus and Sparks somewhere if you want one. Curious how long new Camaros will hang around after they are "ended".

Malibu and Spark will continue for 2023. Both are listed on 2023 startup schedule. Malibu production starts in July.

Just like everything else, Malibus are actually in demand right now due to the limited availability of inventory. When we have one come in, it sells immediately.

Is this just fortifying the "build to order" business model?

I didn't see it mentioned here, but the Blazer refresh is supposed to drop tomorrow. Looks like a pretty minor refresh. Revised front end, tail lights, and perhaps a slightly updated interior? I'm a pretty big fan of the current look...I'll be shocked if they can make me like it any more lol.

Oh wait...what I'm supposed to say is that it's an abomination because it's not a hardcore off-road SUV like it should have been.
