They are quieter, get much better fuel econ empty, and don't need to scream to 4500rpm to make torque - they do the same at 1600rpm.

I see the "400" badge on the back, which I've already forgotten what the hell that even means.

Dude, really? Isn't it obvious that its the rounded up torque output in newton meters?

Doesn't seem worth the upfront cost or upkeep costs to me but to each their own

Upfront cost is offset by higher resale value - so more of a moot point really.

Maintenance cost is higher, yes...but is offset in fuel economy in all scenarios. I've owned 3 different diesel vehicles and their gas counterparts - the only time I didn't like the diesel was in a 2500HD GMC due to ride quality, which had more to do with the 4" lift, than the actual truck itself.

I won't sell my '17 Denali 6.2 for a diesel, as I am invested in this truck for the long term...but had the 3.0l Duramax been an option in '17, I would have bought it instead.

So they're calling them Blackwings without the Blackwing engines? Is that right?

The actual name hasn't been released yet. It is all speculation for now, but calling them "Blackwing" w/o the BW engine, doesn't make much sense.
