Fiber packing coming out of exhaust...

Hey guys, anybody here ever have their (stock) muffler fiber packing start coming out the tailpipe? Just the other day I noticed what looked like steel wool hanging from the tailpipe on my driver's side, and when I investigated I found it to basically look/feel like fiber glass or steel wool or something along those lines, and sure enough it was "stuck" and "connected" going up in the tailpipe, so when I pulled on it I was only able to get the portion that was hanging out.

I'm not super concerned in terms of damage to the vehicle, but can this stuff cause blockage on that side/muffler reducing airflow? And in terms of sound, as it comes out, will it end up sounding more "machinegun" and louder? I'm not a fan of the tincan machinegun sound, and have loved my current setup (kooks LTs, catted, stock NPP with flaps open).

All thoughts are welcome and appreciated.

('13 ZL1, LTs, catted, stock NPP with flaps open, ~54k miles)

It's nothing to worry about. I pulled mine out back in 2015 and I'm running mods that put about 850hp to the crank.

Pull out what you can and dont look back.

I experienced that problem as well and had the same concern about blockage just as you, fortunately the car was still under warranty and they replaced the entire exhaust.
