I did my first half mile
POver the 4th of July (late post I know) I went to a half mile event. Fortunately for me it was an extra "practice" day that they added last minute. There were maybe 15 cars in my session. We got 7 passes in. My car did a best of 154.6mph.
cool little mix of cars. 5gen zl1, gt500, ctsv, atsv, c5,6,7 vettes, gtr's, supra, a couple hellcat challengers including a red-eye that I wanted to line up with since we were close on trap speed. Overall a lot of fun and some really cool people and cars! I used my street set up for the event. Mmr m716 19". 285/35/19 pilot 4s up front and 325/30/19 pilot super sports in the rear. https://youtu.be/iZDzls7aSAg

Did you have to start with cold tires (no prestage burnout)?
Funny how they used a flashlight to start like that Street Outlaws tv show lol. The 4-5 drop on the 6th-gen's M6 sure is nasty. They should have used the C6 ZR1 5th and 6th gear ratios instead I think. |

I've always wanted to try a 1/2 mile. Looks fun. Have you run the 1/4 mile with your car? I think I could run 170 mph or more. Wish there was a calculator for that. Congrats looks like you were kickin ass after you stopped spinning the tires.

No pre stage burn out. I dropped my rear tires to 30psi and then spun them a little off the line to put a little heat in them so they would grab on the 1-2. Launch doesn't really matter for the half. As long as your putting it all to the ground shortly after.
I usually run around 125 in the 1/4 If you can find one, I had a blast and everyone I talked to did too. Ours was part of an airshow that was going on so it was 3days of runs, plus my practice day that I was on. Usually you get 2 passes from what I hear.

Nice numbers, Dubchitts. I've always wanted to do a 1/2 mile event. How was that GForce shaft at those speeds? Any vibration?
