Help with hawk hp-30 track pads. Missing backing plates

Received my front hawk hp-30 Hb453w.585 pads for my 2016 SS with 4 pot brembos. The pads visually appears to match but are missing the blocks and back plate which I understand are only on the factory pads to reduce vibration and squeal. More importantly there are no backing plates included. I need to install these tonight, does anyone know if the factory backing plates can separate from the factory pads? Do the hawk pads need backing plates when installed? Help!

I think you mean shims. The backing plate has the braking compound affixed.
Just looking around the web, there are those who reuse the stock shims and those who don't. Personally I would try to reuse them and use anti-squeal at contact points. apparently Hawks are know for squeal no matter what you do.
I went with these, which came with shims:

Whatever you decide, I would hold onto the old pads in case you do decide you want the shims later.

+1 it's shims they don't have, not necessarily missing. Many race pads lack shims, as NVH is irrelevant, and if a caliper needs thermal shimming the team have their own solution.

Hawks are know for squeal no matter what you do.

This is why I switched to PowerStop Brakes.

Very helpful feedback. I called hawk today and confirmed they don't come with shims. Is it possible to remove the shims from the stock pads?if not where can I buy shims? I heard titanium are a good way to go. I purchased these for a track event for max performance. Will likely swap back to streets after the event.

The OEM shims are held on by a really thick paste. You can pull them from the rear stockers and reuse them. If you are going to swap them back out later, why not try them without first. Just liberally apply some anti squeal to the back of the plate before install, especially at all the contact points.
I went with the Z26 pads and didn't reuse the shims.

The Bite on these dtc-30s is absolutely a shock coming from stock brembo pads. Barely got heat into them and man do the grab. Ordered a set of titanium shims as well ahead of the track event.. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F233177002117
