Aftermarket Foglights
Hi,
New here so forgive me if this is in the wrong place. Does anyone have any experience with adding fog lights to models that don't come originally with them? I have a 1LT and it looks like the vertical slots in the front bumper where higher-end models have lights would be a great spot. Hoping that there is some aftermarket set that will just mount in there and have plug-n-play wiring. Is there factory wiring already into the bumper area for all models? Thanks in advance for any insight. |

Not to be snarky or anything, but as far as i know, the lights you are referring to are not fog lights. They are part of the daytime running light system and do not provide much of a light. More of an aesthetic and visibility thing than anything.

Actually did not know that, good to know. Thank you for that info. I want to put something in there as it seems like a great spot and am okay with aesthetics. Is it the same setup as in other makes/models where the areas are the same, but higher-end models have lights and the lower models have holes or caps? If so, I am surprised at lack of aftermarket products that can utilize the areas. Thanks again.

Ha! Thanks for the reply.
I thought someone would have a similar question. I didn't know about the clips. It just seems that something should slide right into those slots. And, I am hoping there is wiring close by. Sadly, I haven't found anything yet. I will definitely post here when/if I do. |

So since you have a 2019+ LT, there is no way to get factory lights in. The 2016-2018 LT's had the lower lights but when they redesigned they completely deleted those lights in this new style. So there isn't any pre-existing wiring for them and I do not believe the factory lights would fit them. They are at most air ducts for cooling sadly.

It would be quite an endeavor, but the extent of modifications should be manageable, GM are penny pinching everywhere, so from some point backwards components are still the same. People have already added the 2019 infotainment to a 2016 (or 2017) Camaro, which I would've thought impossible, this doesn't look half as difficult.

OP can probably contact Gen5DIY for some harness help and they can most likely fabricate something that could link to the existing DRL’s or if you’re more interested in the 16-18 I’m pretty sure that can be done too. Only real fabrication on your part on the 2019 bumper could be the space for the lights might be too small and idk if they have the sockets from the old bumper
