Driving Shoes/Loafers

Thinking about getting a loafer like this for track days.

Anyone use any specific footwear? Till now ive been using sneakers and they are fine but just wanted to try a "driving shoe" that wasn't a race boot.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Except for "dress shoes", I choose footwear mainly on how well they work for driving. Typically these are "walking shoes" with flexible soles that are relatively narrow.

Might be just me, but I don't think I'd feel all that secure wearing slip-ons that are eventually going to loosen up.

I use Sperry Topsiders. Thin sole, leather upper. Flexible, comfy, and cool in the summer months.

I have had good luck with Piloti Racing Shoes. https://piloti.com/
Expensive, but you can usually find last years model or closeouts for a good price.

I had a pair of Pilotis that lasted a couple years of daily wear. I am a teacher and on my feet all day. And they were fabulous for heel-toe.

Sparco makes nice driving shoes.
Not very expensive (about $100), comfy for the paddock and they've last me several years. Had Bell shoes before, liked them, but they fell apart after about 4 seasons. Either way, proper shoes make a big difference imo by providing better sensitivity when operating pedals.

I don’t go to the track, but I do take three trips a year that are over 15 hours straight through from Florida to the Northeast. Anybody got any good shoe recommends for that?

These are great drivers. I use them exclusively at autocross and track days.

I ordered and received the ones I posted in the link above and they are great. Nice pedal feel light weight and comfortable. (For me)

Weather or not they will last I don't know but would think they are perfect for road trips and weekender track day use.

Mountain biking shoes actually work well, the casual type, not the ones with the pedal cleats in them. Sole is super stiff but they're comfortable to walk around in...

I have 4 pairs of Tigers, all are great for driving and stylish with a retro look.

I have a couple different colors as well. In fact, the previous version is a favorite of Chris Harris. He doesn't like the newer ones as much but we guys can be stubborn.
