Finally got my 1LE after 3 months since ordering..happy now.

Hello fellow 1LE owners,

I have finally joined the owners club after a long 3 month wait since I ordered in early April. Car was delayed due to railroad shipping holdups and truck delivery problems. Anyway, it is a 1ss in garnet red and i have to say that in the sun this color really pops and is great. The steering and suspension are fantastic, just as I thought they would be. Now I have to keep putting on some break-in miles so I can open up the throttle more soon.
Here is my car the 1st day home....

Congratulations!
It's good to see GM is offering Garnet Red for the Camaro.
G-R has always been a few extra added $ when special ordering your Corvette.
The last of the Camaro 18's will probably arrive on dealers lots on or before labor day.
They'll be snagged up by true Camaro Enthusiasts, along with a bunch of wannabe nail biting fence sitters.
After the 18's are gone?
The new and improved, so called " refresh " 19 will be sitting on the lots.
The 19 looks like the step child of an 18 Camaro having non consensual sex with a Ford Mustang.
GM\Chevy got together and said, HEY! WE need to make the Camaro look more " Girly ".
Damn, Isn't it enough that just about every auto on the road today looks ten times more Girl than it does Man?
Pretty soon the only choice us guys will have are Pickup Trucks.
Retractable mirrors and a small wing on the top of the roof is coming for those as well.
I'm in my 50's now. I'll be keeping my 181LE until the funeral home tosses dirt on top of me.

Beautiful car!!! There was only like 80 of them made in 2017, dunno for 2018. So definitely a rare color combo and model. #teamgarnet

I believe it was 48 1LE 1SSs made in Garnet Red in 2017. I have one also. Necks break when I drive it through town on sunny days.

Congrats! Love the color.

Get that clear bra stuff on NOW! I've got splash guards and they did nothing against the assault of these big sticky tires. The sides of my car looks like it went through an asteroid field at light speed...

Invest in some rock guards to help protect your paint.
Mine isn't a daily driver. I've only taken her out at night. I was lucky enough to retire at 45. Finally, I've reached the point in my life where I am financially able to protect my nice ride. Treat her like a lost step child. She's in a warm garage 24\7. The Sun hasn't hit the paint since the day I took her home. During my night rides at 0200, it's only me, two cops in town, and a critter here and there. You can own it out here in the Country. We have some awesome up and down winding secondary roads here. Turn on the Valentine1 and go for it.

Damn, I've had her since October and I don't even have 1k miles yet.
Anyway,,

Those front tires will kick rocks up all the way to the front of your rear wheels.
I recently found my first hit.
GM installs a type of plastic film over the paint in front of the rear wheels to help protect the paint.

It's not fail safe.
I was washing the car and noticed a nice rubber bugger from where a rock hit in front of the rear wheels.

I'm not sure if I should get a razor blade, tweezers and F with it, or just leave it alone.
I'm not sure if it reached down to the paint. The rock definitely nailed that protective film though.
Enjoy your new ride brother!

Congrats man!

I also had to custom order my car...my wait was a little less than yours...about 10 1/2 weeks. I also got mine in Garnet Red, and man, I get so many compliments about the color! (why I named the car Deadpool)

The reason why I had to order mine was because I wanted very specific options on the car which I wasn't going to compromise on, and the dealer couldn't find one with the exact options I had within 1000 miles, lol.

These were my options that I ordered.

Illuminated "CAMARO" door sills
Ambient interior lighting structra (Looks AMAZING at night!)
Black bowties

There's just something special about getting a car that you ordered specifically. It just feels like it's "your" car.

Enjoy your ride my friend, you and all of our brothers and sisters on this forum have one hell of a car.
