Well after having my car nearly a week, GM decided that the roar I am hearing is normal and is not repairable. They blame it on noise from the tires..

Now I get to go back and have the Oil Pickup recall fixed as I fall under that.

Are you comfortable with jacking up the rear ended and taking out two plugs with a 3/8" ratchet? If so just buy 2 quarts of the proper fluid part number and change the fluid yourself. On a properly leveled car the fluid capacity in the diff works out to be just a tad over 1.3L. It'a a really simple procedure.

The quickest way and mess free way to get the fluid in is to use one of the extraction/filling pumps you can get at Autozone. They kind of look like the grease guns but they are not. It essentially acts like a big syringe. You are better off unscrewing the cap and filling that way.

They changed the fluid. That's not the noise I'm getting. It's more of a rubbing noise which they blame on the tires.

With the correct fluid? Your posts don't indicate they filled it with the specified part #.

If the incorrect PN was used and you have paperwork to show the correct PN, they need to fix that.
