Anybody else get a check engine light in the first 2 mile?

Picked it up today. Got less than 2 miles away and the car went into limp mode. Now I have a Malibu. WTF!!!!!!!!! None of the service people where there. I got to taste it, then it was taken away. I hope it's something easy. Anybody experience anything like this? If I wasn't laughing, I would be crying.

No telling, man. That's why these cars have warranties, they aren't all going to be perfect right out of the plant. I hope it's something simple and they get you fixed right up. Keep us posted!

Sorry, I disagree. Cars should be perfect coming off the lot. Warranties are for longer term peace of mind.

OP, hope it's something minor. Good luck with it and keep us posted.

He didn't say he thinks they all shouldn't be perfect...he just said that they all aren't, which is the real truth. No car, no make...never has there been a perfect run of a mass produced vehicle that sells into the 100s of thousands a year.

A bad apple will get out there now and then.

OP...good luck!

Same thing happened to me and I was stuck with a Trax, apparently what had happened to me was some water got into a connector for the fan module and shorted out the connection. After that got fixed my car has been absolutely perfect.

I'm sure it's something simple. It was just mean of the universe to tease me like that. I haven't even properly adjusted my seat yet.

Hard to do when so many here don't want a dealer test driving their car or even prepping it for that matter.
I much prefer taking delivery of a car with some miles on it. 48 in my case.

Likely something simple that will be resolved with a scan.

The oil pump control solenoid is bad. I guess she thinks she is out of oil. Good news is they found the problem and it's and easy fix, bad news it's won't be done until tomorrow.
