AC hot on start?

I've noticed a weird bug on occasion when I start the car and drive a short distance -- warm air is coming out of the vents, even if the AC is not turned on.

I keep the AC set at about 70-72, but this is definitely coming out warmer than that. Turning on the AC, even for a few seconds fixes the problem.

I don't necessarily thing anything is broken, but wonder if it is a design flaw since the engine is positioned so close to the console.

Anyone else notice this?

was it cooler then 70-72 when you got in the car? Even a degree or 2.
Because if it's in Automatic Operation mode,

Quote:
Automatic Operation
The system automatically controls
the fan speed, air delivery, air
conditioning, and recirculation in
order to heat or cool the vehicle to
the desired temperature.
It could be taking a bit to get all the air ducts that might be colder or warmer, up to temp along with the air going over the sensor.
