So many times I have walked away from the parts department showing them basically the same product for almost $200 to $300 less, you just have to wonder how much money GM/Accessories loses a year to the competition selling basically the same products.
Generally, it comes down to fitment guarantee and warranty. If you buy it from GM, they can't generally argue with you that it voids the warranty (regardless which one). And, if it doesn't fit correctly or color match, they'll make it right. Basically, you're paying an inflated price because there is additional risk that GM is taking on by selling it.

I see what you mean. If you think the design and quality of the aftermarket one is on par w/ OEM, go for it!

Not sure about all parts but the few GM parts I have bought are top quality and fit perfect. So meh, it is just money and you cannot take it with you.

I will say that the EOS splitter that I have on my 2020 2SS fits very well. I can't speak to the different front end on the RS and what might fit well there, though. I bought my splitter and side skirts for about $500, unpainted.

I understand fully that when it comes to our babies we want the best for them and when it comes down to maintenance or performance I will stick with all gm oem parts. Things like splash guards, front splitter, rear spoilers and so on gm is just way over price on these parts and I believe they need to be more fair in pricing there products for there customers, competitive pricing isn't a bad thing and I just think gm would benefit greatly if they were.

Ok, so even after checking out a lot of parts on OEM GM / ACCESSORIES they are fairly expensive, but I will admit my mistakes when I am wrong about something or someone. On Friday I had a very nice conversation with a lady from gm/ accessories and told her about the splitter I wanted but at $550 was a bit much. I do have my chevy rewards points which the other sites will not accept but the online order will only allow 27,000 points which comes out to $137. I was able to get another 15% off which brought the final price down to $385. So the splitter is being delivered to the dealership for pickup for free delivered. So YES I am going to EAT MY WORDS. To the employee's at GM/ ACCESSORIES SORRY for my negative comment and Thank You for helping me out!!

Coming back and correcting yourself is very respectable Also glad that in the end you're getting the part you really wanted. Shipping is usually not free with these large parts, GM or aftermarket, so good call on getting it at the dealership (I did the same with my ZL1 spoiler).

In my limited experience, GM body parts are the best fit and quality, other parts all have some idiosyncrasies or minor fitment issues (for example, splitters/side skirts that look the same or even better on photos, until you realize their bottom is missing, they aren't fully closed profile like the OEM ones etc.).

Full disclosure, I haven't tried any ultra expensive CF parts, I have no money for that.

Very correct on the shipping cost even though the other sites offer the same splitter as gm/accessories but at a much lower price its there shipping prices that are exceptional high. Some shipping prices start at $275 to as high as $375 putting the price of the splitter higher then gm/ accessories. And after watching some you tube videos of some after market splitters being installed by others they do show the minor imperfections. So yes, pretty please about getting the oem factory piece. Lesson for me here, you paid what you get.

I am currently in the same boat, I would like to order a couple parts through the Chevy Accessories page, using my GM rewards points. I also am not able to use the total number of point vouchers to cover the cost of the parts, even though I have more than enough. It only allows me to use a drop down with pre-set point vouchers. I am not sure if this is what you referring to, but my question to you is, if you wouldn't mind telling me, was the lady on the phone able to correct this or did they just end up giving you another 15% off?

Yeah, you're always paying the freight charges no matter what... Even when you order and have it shipped to the dealership, you're still paying the cost of having it shipped there as it's basically baked into the cost. This is the hardest part of true comparison shopping for price on a lot of items because some places show the price of the item alone and you compare that up against another place that offers "free shipping" and it looks like an amazing deal. Then you add in the cost to ship it from that place with the low price and you might end up paying more in the end.

I was only able to use 27,000 points which came out to a savings of $137 go to manufacturers savings and press spring2021 for another 15% in savings and have the parts to shipped to your dealership for free.
