UPS dropped by today and delivered a package I have been waiting for since February. I sent my manifold down to NX Express racetrack department and Chris Isbel at NX Express took care of my manifold. The Ice/Snow storm in Texas delayed the build which was understandable and after seeing the manifold it was well worth the wait. To me it’s car porn at its finest!

We ended up choosing the 200 shot so GPI pistons will be going in the build with that EL-C7 Texas Speed cam. I need to do a few alterations to adjust for the fit, I will be moving that top solenoid to a new location. Chris offered a test fit on another Camaro and I should have taken him up on his offer, even if that meant another month waiting. But heck more garage time to fiddle around for me before it goes to the shop for cam & heads, plus other goodies. This is not going to be a quick build, because I am trying my best to have it as near perfect as I can get it.

Man oh man what a project. I have changed my mind a few times on location of things and changed my mind about delivery system of Nitrous 3 times. I actually got lucky and found a company that does harness/board set ups for builds. I am so lucky I talked to Eric at pronitrous.com because the parts I had would not have run the solenoids I had because I upgraded in size and added 4 solenoids and now 2 purge solenoids instead of 3 in total before. The voltage would have been wrong and would not have worked the way I had it set up. The board Eric made is now taking up so less space and looks way better then what I had. If you need any NOS work done contact Eric he’s very knowledgeable and professional at Pronitrous.

This week I took the heads off and sent them to Katech Performance to get them CNC and professional assembled to race specs with the new 660 springs and smith brothers kit. They will assemble to cam specs and I feel better going this route when the cam goes in. Need to find a clutch to put in, anyone with a recommendation please chime in. Also I was going with the GPI piston kit but canceled it, I watched and LMR build with drop in WISECO 6.2L LT1 -.6CC STOCK-REPLACEMENT DROP-IN PISTONS FOR STOCK CONNECTING RODS, NO BALANCING REQUIRED so I am going that route now.

Well its been 3 months since last post an update is needed. Still changing stuff, the joy of playing around in the garage. Grabbed that Motion Raceworks In Line Flex Fuel Sensor Mount for use with E85.

https://www.motionraceworks.com/prod...n-6an-8an-10an

Got my heads back from Katech in July, CNC ported, hand ported both sides, race setup, valve job done, brass stems, heads shaved, smith brothers kit installed on rockers and double springs installed.

Pistons, I have been waiting four months for GPI piston kit to ship, I gave up on waiting for them. Ordered what I could get and went with a non drop in setup. Purchased - a set of diamond pistons 11533r 4.065 with the connecting rods. Should be hopefully bullet proof when the 200 NOS shot is applied.

Made my choice of dual clutch and picked out the Spec P-Trim Super Twin. Almost forgot picked up a super damper.

Car is at the shop and motor being pulled out this week. Hopefully by the end of the month might have a few pics and videos out of the build.

Finally the engine is back in the car after parked for 11 months. What a long slug fest, COVID19 did not help with getting parts and stuff done.

Added toggle switches for line lock and 2 step, in order to do a burn out in the box without two step on. Just cut the power to 2 step with toggle switch. On the line activate both with button on the stirring wheel. Both switches are on the lower part with red safety toggle switches. Plus added a on/off switch for NOS fuel pump just above the engine start button so I avoid dry pumping when do solenoid and fuel pressure checks etc. I also ended up spraying the chrome shifter holder flat black. IMO it just ties in better.

I ended up putting my air intake filter just behind the grille with a four inch custom piping to snake around to the TB. I always wanted to do this in order to get the air filter totally away from the hot engine bay. If you look at pic you can see the air filter just behind the grill. It will help in the cooler months for sure.

Thanks for the nice comments and I have read your signature parts/times. Once you do builds like we do we always understand what one goes through to complete their projects. Its not only a hobby but fun and rewarding to me.

Agreed! Enjoyed reading about this!

OP: looks like you relocated your coolant reservoir, just wondering why?

Relocated the coolant tank because passenger side is a pain in the ass to check NOS plugs after runs. Just makes it way easier like the drivers side. Plus I was able to pull the lines and wire harness away from the headers on that side.

Man talk about a cool build yourself, dam your loaded for bear. I need those axels u have. Coming this winter.

Ok, that makes sense. Good idea.

Thanks for the kind words! Hoping to see what it can really do soon at a private track rental. Hoping for a deep 9…
