So when you throw your right turn signal on, does the glow-tie turn off like the rh drl will?

A couple things that helped me with my install that I would add that hasn't really been shown:

to remove the upper fascia support, I had to bend the hood release over as the arrow shows in order to have access underneath

After I drilled out the hole behind where the original emblem was, I mounted the glow-tie in its place and routed the cable as shown:

Instead of removing the whole front bumper, I removed the wheel liner and switched the harness per the install instructions:

Turned out great!

That black glow tie looks awesome on these black cars. Mine was installed from the dealer before I bought it. I would have done it myself and saved the cash if I had the choice. $395 is a tad high in my opinion but a must have in my book. Loving it.

Just ordered mine and can't wait to get it. Already have the black bowties and only ordered the front black illuminated bowtie for $199 on ebay.

I wish they had some sort of lighted bow tie for the flow tie. I just added a lighted red bow tie on the back of my 2018 ZL1 vert from Oracle. I have a red lighted bow tie on the front (from RiverCityCreation.com) and rear (from Oracle), they look really nice on my 2013 ZL1 vert. I always get asked where I got these mods if I have the car out at night.

Just a few notes for those doing this.. If you have all the tools you can do this in <30 mins easy. You do not have to take the wheel off nor the front bumper.... unless you have huge forearms.

If you remove the upper bumper support, as mentioned you need to bend the hood latch back a bit, its a lot easier.

I used a step bit to drill the hole for the new emblem. I noticed it needs more cut off the bottom.

Jack up the passenger side tire.
Remove the bottom bolt. This is easier if you turn the wheel left.
Remove the next three holding in the liner (easier turning the wheel to the right)

The clip is connected vertically and plugs into the bottom of the "ballast".
The connector has a clip that needs to be pulled down, then the button will release the connector. Since the connector is the same as the one in the new glowtie harness, you can look at the one you're about to plug in as an example.

If you leave a light in the fenderwell you can easily see where the harness needs to feed.

Hope this helps!

Great advice here. I'm not sure if I'll wade into this on my own or have the dealer do it. Thanks.

Thanks for the write up. I installed the illuminated door sills from one of your other write ups. Then I installed the bowtie kind of following what you did. I went from the top after slightly bending the hood latch to get the cover off.

Your welcome! Glad people are using these to help them add the upgrades they want to do. If I had to do it again I would have figured a way out not to remove the front bumper cover. I tried going from the top with removing the hood latch but hand would not fit. Take care and enjoy

I looked over this thread as well, when I was looking into the glowtie install. I went through the top. Removed one bolt from the hood latch and loosened the other. Plate came right off. Thanks.
