Absolutely right 90503 . One of the cars I owned before I bought my LT1 and exactly why I chose the LT1.

Good idea 3.8 TransAm . In 87 I test drove the new Buick GN. Told the salesman to find me one without all the boy racer trim and two weeks later was the owner of a black T Type that spent a lot of time beating up V8 cars at the track. I used to bug the Pontiac guys a couple of years later when I could say that the quickest Pontiac used a Buick engine. Guys at the track called my car "That F'n Black Taxicab". At 14 pounds of boost stock that little 231 cubic inch motor moved the same amount of air as a normally aspirated 462 . The LT1 over the SS was a personal choice. Both are great cars.
