^ I will either run that or the Havoline Pro DS 5w-30 once I use up my Valvoline 5W-30 MST Dexos (old formula). Can't beat either of those for the price either. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Havoline-...6-qt/537902742

touched up the tune this week. oil life went down 11% while it was on the dyno. only made 9? pulls.
oh well. i change mine around 4k. bolt ons and ethanol. oil always smells like a soy bean. car isn't rich so idk. also i noticed that the m1 0-40 dexos stuff is pretty thin. my catch can traps a lot of it in comparison to the rotella t6 i normally run. id estimate 4-5 times more. i'm not going to use the m1 anymore after this.

the euro was the first 0-40 i tried and what initially prompted me to install a catch can. watching oil drip off the tb after removal was neat.

Might try it to half on the oil stick. I haven't pulled my intake to check since I been doing it but heard it helps |

10 quarts puts me right in the middle of the hash marks on the dipstick.

yes, i run it full. i have an easy solution, i simply won't use the m1 0-40 oil(s). i went through this in 05 with m1 oil and for some reason came right back to it.

For anyone looking for 5w-40 Dexos, Amalie is still priced right https://www.amazon.com/Amalie-Elixer.../dp/B01N6X1R9P

What's important, and what I was pointing out, is that the published viscosities for most oils are at 40C and 100C, and that even a 0w-XX oil has much more resistance to flow at 40C than a "thick" oil (like straight 50w) at 100C. IOW, all the talk about a 0w-XX oil only having benefits in very cold climates is just wrong, because it has much better flow during a "cold start" at 104F too.

It’s an SAE standard, so it should not be that hard to find. I’ll look up the SAE paper later when I have time. |

Do look that up. I'd be curious what the horse's mouth has to say (the SAE). I didn't run across it quickly. However, again I encourage people to look at the actual data sheets for the various oils. Look at the viscosities at 40C (104F), and then consider that this represents a cold start in even the warmest of climates. Again, there is a meaningful difference in oil flow, even when the ambient temp is 104F: 0w-XX oil simply flows better. IOW, 0w-XX oil improves cold-start protection in cold or warm climates.
