ZL1 Catch Cans

My apologies if this has been previously discussed. Administrators please delete if that is the case.

My question: If catch cans are so important for DI engines why doesn't GM provide these vehicles with catch cans already installed?

TIA

Not to mention if any issues do arise from excessive carbon deposit build up on the valves, etc the vehicle will most likely be out of warranty.

I would say nothing more than if you didn't have one.

Exactly.

I had a catch can on my 2015 Silverado for about a year and a half. I finally removed it because during the winter months it would fill up with condensation and require draining every 7-10 days. It became a real PITA to maintain.

When the time comes, I'll pay for an intake cleaning. Hell of a lot less hassle than draining a catch can in freezing temperatures.
