Shifter cap (Carbon Fiber Look)
Was anyone else a sucker and ordered the $100 shifter cap? It’s a piece of metal, maybe aluminum that replaces the factory knob insert. If I had seen exactly what it was before ordering, I would have saved the $100.

I like it that its black and not the red. I agree the $100 is a little steep for what you are getting.

It is overpriced but I got it when I ordered my 22 ZL1. They also got me on the carbon fiber dash, fuel door and hood insert which is a must have for me.

Well kinda, my car came with the plain aluminum shift cap. I used Chevy points accumulated (mostly from my car purchase) and bought a new shift knob assembly. The total cost to me $7. As well, bought a take off Microsuede boot to compliment for $30.
I was a bit disappointed that it’s not close to looking like real carbon fiber. Better than the plain cap.. but jeese Lois! I may pull the old cap and see what I can do with some real carbon fiber, or potentially modify someway else. |
