My rear speakers rattle from the bass sometimes, has done this since new . Maybe I need to squirt some wd 40. My v6 doesn't have the sound tube from the intake tube. But it makes the best throaty intake sound I have heard. 35 k miles and I still love it.

Get it the way you want. You might spend more now but if you settle for less than you want you will be sorry in the future. I waited 6 months and found the exact car I wanted at a dealership in Michigan (I’m in NY). Bought it over the phone and had it shipped home.

I'm stuck wondering if I'd regret not getting an SS.
And I can't decide between auto or manual. I've driven manual for years and years but GM's 10-speed is so good.

I like the front fascia of the SS better, but, it's just a bumper cover. What am I not thinking of?

Despite the loss of performance, I'd rather have all-season tires. I live on a gravel drive and summer tires make the gravel stick to them. How hard am I really going to push this car on the street -- not very.

Thoughts?

I spent a lot of time bouncing between LT1 RS and 1SS. I also bounced between M6 and A10.

I chose A10 because of the combo with the rear end ratio was better suited to highway driving, which I will do a lot of since it will be my daily. If I wanted a weekend cruiser for in-town I would have gone with the M6. The A10 was co-developed between Ford and Chevy and I suspect it will prove to be a really good transmission since both are using it.

I chose the 1SS for the following reasons:

It was only $2k more than the LT1 RS. I preferred the RS package for the front facia over the 1SS. But I do like the aggressive nose on the SS as well now.

The 8" screen was what I really wanted over the 7" and I don't want Bose since I'll be doing a full audio upgrade anyway.

The gauge cluster is much nicer on the 1SS, the LT1 has the small lame screen from like 10 years ago.

The trans cooler, diff cooler, functional front brake coolers, front & rear brembo, and engine cooling enhancements are worth the extra money as-is. Those are awesome track features. Front only Brembo on the LT1 looks dumb.

The resale is about $5k-$7k more for the 1SS.

I preferred the rear lip on the LT1 over the spoiler on the 1SS... but I didn't like the extra cost to change it so I left it. But I still really like the LT1 RS body lines.

I also wasn't thrilled about summer only tires but I was going to buy a winter tire/wheel package anyway. The wider rear tires certainly helps with launching...

Which brings us to the added launch control and added track mode.

I did comparison images to help me decide.

I also listed out the features and improvements and I have this on my office wall as i wait for production and delivery.

1SS 1LE was what I went with. A lot of car for the money.

Good discussion and some good points to consider.

It's hard to find 1SS in the configuration I want around here. Might have to do the dreaded and actually go talk to a dealer.

This probably belongs in another subforum, but is below MSRP still generally possible? Do dealers still do things like Costco deals on the Costco auto buying program?

I have a 2019 Black 1SS 6 speed with 52,000 miles and Zero problems since new. The extra cooling features of trans and diff have been great here in Cali. Seats are cloth and more comfortable than leather for me. Going to add a ‘23 1SS Auto soon to my stable.

I like the automatic much more for a truck. Good luck.
When I snagged my LT1, all the 1SS in a 4 hour radius were 1SS/1LE package, so even with the NPP and bose it was about $7k cheaper to go LT1.

No ragrets, wouldn't have minded a 1SS, love my LT1.

I did get the M6, or course.

Like other's have said, get what works for you. Everyone has different tastes and opinions. The good thing and probably most important is your getting the 6.2 V8 either way. As for the stereo, I have the Bose system and coming from a C7 with the Bose to a ZL1, is highly disappointing. Seems as if it was the least concerning design and feature that was put into the car.

Mine ended up with an MSRP of $38,435, and with rebates, I was able to get it for $37,435 in Feb. The dealer in Michigan, John Bowman Chevrolet, was selling at MSRP, and was honoring all GM discounts and rebates. No BS.

if its going to be driven on nice days i would throw out the all-season radial as a consideration

OCT of 2020, i got a 2021 Black LT1 RS package, w/Brembo fronts, 8" screen w/BOSE package, side skirts, negotiated heated leather seats aftermarket into the deal, 5 year warranty. OTD was 42k after all taxes.
Purchased 305/285 wheels and rims to get some rubber on the road to match 1LE sizes
Purchased a carbon splitter
Purchased a 1LE spoiler
I'm 45k into this car and it rocks.

Here's what an LT1 CAN look like. One shot with my buddy's C8.
