Is there any aero benefit to the ZL1 1LE splitter and grills? I'm doing the front dive planes plus the rear wing for Time Trials. This looks like it will achieve 99% of the down force. I'm not going for a "full clone" look.

Don't know, I like the look, if I get some benefit of down force, all the better.

They say the front end of a 1LE moves 83% more air than a ZL1.That isn't insignificant and surely helps with aero and cooling.

What i wonder is how the upper and lower grills look installed with out the 1le front splitter. Like how noticeable are the slots where the 1le splitter attaches to the lower grill? May be so low on the car its not very noticeable unless you are laying on the ground looking at it.
I would have to purchase the upper and lower and then later the front splitter because the front splitter with side winglets and hardware is nearly the same price as the upper and lower grills.

Well I am keeping the upper grill on mine, because it is so small, I don't think most will notice.

The lower grill, has 19 slots for the taps from the splitter and bumper. You could cut the tabs off the splitter. See my previous post on that.

I'm not trying to have the splitter with out the grill. I am inquiring about the grills without the splitter, and purchase the splitter at a later date.

You don't need the lower splitter to work with the 1LE grille

Looks sweet. Will be doing the same except no canards and side vent swap.

I would say that the splitter provides probably significantly more downforce than the canards. Do a bit of research on how splitters work vs. what the canards do.

All done! Still waiting on the other splitter deflector on the passenger side, but that can be installed with the bumper back on the car. I didn't change out the upper grill, because I really don't think most will notice outside of Camaro owners.
Total cost was $675.90, parts and shipping, doesn't include the splitter deflector.
Got a breakdown on the cost of the parts and shipping, along with GM vendors used. If anyone is interested, PM me, be happy to share.
On the difficulty scale, I would give it 2.5 out of 5 stars. The only frustrating part where removing the ZL1 bezels and installing the 1LE bezels. Those tabs are unforgiving, although the bezel installation went a lot easier with two people. It takes a great deal of patience and brute force.

When I got frustrated, I just took a break and went back at it later. It seemed to help.
