That's a cold start. The car is in preset RICH (open loop) fuel settings to help warm up the cats and get the car ready for (closed loop) normal operation as fast as possible. IIRC Law regulates the car must get from open loop to closed loop within 60 seconds. Has nothing to do with you pulling the fuse.

Pulling the fuse only differentiates itself from track mode exhaust (fuse in) by not closing the valves at cruising speed below 2000rpm in 5th or 6th gear.

Maybe it's because I have no 2ndary cats, but I couldn't tell any difference after I pulled the foam.

Thanks for the explanation, that makes sense. I think i am just going to delete my NPP and go with an AWE exhaust system.

I pulled that tube apart, stuffed rags in both ends of it and snapped it back together. Much better.

I stand corrected. I drove with the windows up and you definitely hear the fake sound more. Yuck.

I just installed a CAI air box and while I had the stock one removed I also removed that ugly sound tube from the engine compartment. I capped off both the intake tube and the firewall where the sound tube was connected. I really didn't like the sound when I simply pulled the foam out of the tube so decided to just eliminate the whole thing!

Putting my foam back in. Prefer none of the piped in sound.
