I know that those of you who`s teams made the final four are happy and believe they are one of the four best in the country but I personally think that having a selection committee determines who the four should be SUCKS! There has to be a better way of determining a national championship playoff format than having these people deciding which teams make the playoffs! Are they really that qualified to be determining the best teams in the nation?

They're probably as qualified as anyone else to try to sort out a four-team playoff from a field of 128 programs across ten conferences... Personally, I'd like to see a six-team playoff with the Power Five conference winners getting automatic bids, plus one at-large bid (wildcard), with first-round byes for the top two seeds. This is essentially the same as a conference playoff in the NFL. You'd still need to solve the problem of seeding the conference winners and selecting the at-large bid, and that is where there will always be controversy and disagreement.

Not to say that the NFL solution is perfect. It drives me nuts when a .500 team gets a 4th seed by virtue of winning their crappy division, while half a dozen other teams spend all December scrambling to get a 6th seed with 10-6 records or better.

Like I said earlier, they're good, they're just not amazing like people make them out to be. If Derrick Henry gets out of bed and twists his ankle tomorrow the rest of the offense is virtually useless. In a purely subjective ranking, they'd be #4 or 5.

I could see Michigan State destroying them. Wouldn't be the first time they choked at the playoffs.

It's not perfect. But I couldn't figure out how the BCS system worked to save my life.

Im not for a big playoff in college football. Far to violent of a sport for this sort of thing in college. The 4 is a pretty good meet in the middle. Its like when LSU and Bama was playing in NO I told people then that no matter what they come up with people are going to complain. I say win your games and conference. The cream will rise on a 4 team playoff.
