DIFFERENTIAL FLUID CHANGE Break In Peroid

Hello. I just recently purchased my ORDERED in 2023 Riverside Blue Metallic Medium Ash Gray Interior 1SS!

I read somewhere where some of you were changing your Differential Fluid in the 1500 Mile Range during the Break In Period?

My Question is is this a Warranty Covered or is this a TSB Bulletin? Or is it something I have to pay out of pocket?

Thank you Very Much.
i appreciate it.

I did mine at 505 miles and again at 1,500 (did the oil at both those points as well), I did the work myself so it only cost me the fluids (and oil filter), I look at it as cheap insurance...

Both are really easy to do yourself, for the Diff you'll want a hand pump to make filling easier... They are about $10 on Amazon...

Capt, how dirty was your diif fluid at both intervals? I plan on doing the 500 and 1500 changes as well.

I bought mine with about 2500miles and now it has 4k. The rear fluid has never been changed but I have AC Delco 88862624 on its way to my door.

Did mine at 500, then again at 1500. At 500 the fluid was nasty with a good amount of metal on the magnets. At 1500 it was much better with hardly anything on the magnets. I plan to do it every 10K miles since it's cheap and easy. I can't imagine going 45K miles like GM recommends.

It was fairly dark at 505 with some sludge on the magnets, 1500 was much better, still a bit on the magnets... I did it again at 6,000 and it didn't look too bad, I'm going to continue to do it every other oil change... (which for me is about every 10-11 months and roughly 2,500 miles or so)...

I had originally bought 4 quarts of differential fluid which got me exactly 3 fluid changes (each change is about 1.3 qts)... Worked out perfect...

If you do the work yourself (super easy) it costs about $29 per fluid change... Even if you can't do it yourself I would have it done by 1,000 miles and then again at like 5,000 miles, then after that you can probably go 10,000 - 15,000 miles between changes if you don't want to spend the money (for someone else to do it)...

Thanks Capt. I cleaned out my dealer of their last 2 quart's, then after they restocked I took 3 of their last 4 quarts. Ive known the parts guy for decades, he asked why so many, I replied I want get get them at $28 today before they're $35 at a later date. Converting it into price per gallon this shit is $112 per gallon. UFB. The Mobil1 75W-90 is $77 per gallon but I wanted to stick with AC Delco factory fill.

I just changed mine at 1500. Wasn’t as dirty as I thought it would be, but it definitely had some metal in it. The small dealer I bought my car from didn’t even have any in stock.

Sorry, you are correct! It was an early post this morning (still not awake apparently ) before going to work. If you notice they apply another sticker over the American sticker just so they can change one digit in the part number and add french for Canada, I have never been able to figure that one out.

Which means your old bottle pump likely doesn't work on the new bottle... I had to pour the new fluid into the old bottle last night to change mine...
