So the question becomes if we all know the base price of the ZL1 but nobody knows the cost of the options list how could anyone place an order and get a copy of the workbench along with a total cost of the vehicle? I wouldn't be comfortable ordering a car without a final figure just be told oh by the way the A10 costs $9000. Thoughts?

On the other hand, ure right
Now the Zl1 is the king. I bet it will be faster than the hellcat from a dig... But I'd like to see a roll on race.

Tough to make the call without knowing the A10 price, and if it might have the same problems the Vette is having with a blown LT1.

I'm In.

I'm SOOOO IN.

I had hoped they'd start around 62k. But estimated and planned for 65....THANK YOU, CHEVY!

This car is going to be as big of a bargain as the last one was. Consider previous options that are now standard, like the Recaro seats.

Now......to start the countdown timer...September of 2017...

Here's my best guess. These numbers come from GM site building existing Vettes and Camaros so they are probably close to the real deal. Only X factor is the A8 is always a $1795 option and I've allowed an extra $1000 for the MXO A10..

$2795 MXO 10 speed
$1995 exposed hood
$1795 PVR
$995 NAV
$995 Sunroof
$165 ZL1 Floor Mats
$495 CFiber Dash Insert
$7000 Vert

It's not a science it's a guess so don't pin me to the cross just yet!

The 1LE is about what I was expecting...it's a few grand over what many were predicting though.

Very impressive numbers for the ZL1, but like the Hellcats, the markup will be impressive for many dealers (read: crooks)

So badly want one but hard to justify $7x,xxx for a car that I will drive less then 10 times a year. You never know I might change my mind when I see it in person and say screw it and buy one anyways.

I won't be "rooting" for either of them since I don't care, but it's definitely going to be an awesome episode of H2H. Hopefully Ford lets them put a GT350R up against the ZL1. They may not.

The ZL1 is priced several grand under what I expected. Pleasantly surprised!

I'm torn between the ZL1 and the 1LE though. The ZL1 seems like the perfect car, but the 1LE is such a great car for the money.

Not only that, there are already many cars more powerful and faster than the new ZL1. But their existence takes nothing away from this car. The phrase, "The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence." is a very simple statement with profound sociocultural meaning. Its also an illusion the breeds envy and discontent. Don't fall prey to it! Decide what YOU like and how much YOU think its worth, then buy it and enjoy it for what it is.

Off my soapbox now.

I believe your estimates are fine albeit on the high side. Either way the waiting game continues. Until every last nut and bolt works in the system.

There are still limiting factors like allocation, A10 availability, production start dates, QC among other things. I'm glad we're closer to the finish then when I started all this.

I remember saying, What am I going to do for the next 18 months without a car? We may be just a few months away now.

Pray for a mild winter.

Has anyone noticed that the 1LE SS 0-60 time is slower than a regular SS?? Does anyone know if that 4.2 sec time is A8 or M6??

Bigger wider tires will do that. Also if the the earlier test was done using an automatic SS then that would also account for the time difference

Has to be manual. There is no auto for 1LE.
