Cracked wheel

I was wondering if anyone else has had one of the split 5 spoke wheels crack? There was no impact. Dealership has the wheel and has verified there is no impact. It started cracking in at the edge of the bead area on the inside lip of the wheel on the inside then continued to split into the barrel of the wheel. GM first denied the claim saying it wasn't impact. Now they know it wasn't.

Customer service rep didn't sound real surprised. Has anyone else had this problem? I spent my life working in the tire and wheel business this was an extremely rare problem until wheel manufacturing got moved to China.

Weird issue. At least it’s getting fixed. I’ve never heard of a rim cracking on any car.

You obviously don't spend much time over on Corvette forum then. The wide body C7 has a fairly well documented issue with wheels bending and cracking with no major impacts on relatively new cars. Guys are buying new Grand Sports only have have up to 4 bent rims in 1000 miles while others start having slow leaks and find cracks. Seems to be a bit if a GM trend these days.
