Stupid question about the rust, the exhaust system is made of Stainless steel right? Or wrong?

If I have to bend down under the car to see this, don't care.

I just noticed the same thing here in Tx. now that the weather is getting cooler i'm seeing the leaking soot marks on the garage floor. just messy. i will also replace the ugly ass suit case here soon with the powder coated quad tips from borla extreme.

Yes, it is definitely lighter but I can't recall the numbers.

I have been under my car several times and there are no soot marks on my "suitcase" nor on the garage floor.

The extent of marks on the floor or muffler would be drive cycle dependent. Your car has the same weep holes at the muffler inlet location. Water is a significant byproduct of combustion and it will condense in the exhaust system until it gets hot enough to vaporize. The weep holes will ensure water does not build up in the exhaust/muffler and stay there leading to rust.

I'd expect this to be worst if the car gets parked after a short drive cycle.

The front section is stainless steel. The rear section and muffler are aluminumized steel.

I never noticed until I was parked in my GFs steep driveway and as she backed out I was 'mirin the 1LE when I saw it otherwise I probably wouldn't have ever noticed.

Just noticed mine doing the exact same thing and was going to run it up to the dealer tomorrow morning - guess I don't need to do that now - thanks!
