Redline increase?
I tried searching the forum but haven't found anything. Has anyone increased the redline with a tune? Is the LGX limited in any way from going to let's say 7500 or 8000rpm? I've read the LT1 is limited in that area because of valve float. Would the LGX be limited the same way? Does it matter if it's auto or manual? Obviously I have a 6MT(1LE).
Thanks

The V6 in the Camaro is a DOHC engine with 4 small light valves per cylinder so valve float shouldn't be an issue as long as you don't go crazy, but the engine is not designed to rev that high so the cams won't make good power that high and the internals may not be light and strong enough to rev that high and last very long.

You can increase the redline, but it won't do you any good power-wise until you change the cams and tune to take advantage of the higher redline.

Increasing the redline a little would probably put you closer to, or back into, the 5-6k powerband after shifts. Cams are practically a no go on the LGX anyhow.

I bet a high revving LGX would sound insanely good. Wonder what VVT delete would take.

This would be very good for a few extra mph in second gear on some autocross courses where you briefly hit the limiter, but a shift to 3rd isn't warranted. I had this last weekend at the exit of a slalom just before the finish line.

I've made some adjustments and raised the governor up to safe 7550...Nothing really finalized yet, but he seems to like it. I'll be getting rid of my sound tube soon.
